Student Council organized and ran a Food Drive Contest in March to help donate non-perishable food to Riverdale Harvest Foodbank.
The competition ran for 2 weeks. The grade that brought in the most food (by weight/capita) won a pizza lunch provided by student council!
The competitive nature of the students ran high as the food drive came to a close, with many groups planning “surprise” items at the end!
In the end, our Grade 8 class won, bringing in 12.5lbs of food/student!
Overall, Rivers Collegiate was very happy to donate over 800lbs of food to Riverdale Harvest!
